Build Your Professional Development (CPD) hours

Action Learning from ALDA Training will count towards your continuing professional development (CPD) hours.

Enhance Your Decision Making Process

What is it?

Action Learning Training

Action learning is a method of solving issues be it a problem or even to see if an idea would work. It is a powerful problem-solving exercise with support from other participants. No matter if a problem is complex, convoluted and tangled, the workshop will help participants untangle their problem and come up with simple options to move towards a solution.

How does Action Learning work?

A workshop will be delivered online (it can be delivered in your workplace if desired) with five or six participants. Each participant will have one hour slot when they will present their issue (problem or an idea) and other participants will ask insightful questions thus enabling the issue holder to come up with answers or options to resolve their issue. The facilitator will enable reflective listening and learning for the participants, supporting them with their insightful questioning and reflective learning. The facilitator uses Sir John Whitmore’s GROW model to bring solutions to the issue.

Why should I undergo Action Learning training?

Action learning training will give you problem solving skills through developing your insightful questioning skills, active listening, and reflective learning.

Action learning has developed individual leadership and team problem-solving skills since it was created by Professor Reginald Revans in 1982.

You will start off with not knowing the answers (unlearning) and come out with solutions and become creative team player with questioning, listening and reflective skills.

TESTIMONIALS

What Our Students Say

“Would highly recommend this training session – Action learning makes you consider your professional decisions in a different way – an alternative way to reflective thought practice whilst discussing in a group.

Also makes you consider questions that you ask (and how you ask them) as a supportive colleague.” RQSLI – North Wales.

“I wanted to say a huge thank you for your training on Saturday. I thoroughly enjoyed it although I found it a challenge to learn new ways of thinking about issues. I was very nervous in the morning but settled into it in the afternoon.

I have been busy writing up many notes about what you taught us. It was the best training I have done this year! If you ever do a follow up workshop, please put my name down.

It was lovely to meet you even though only on zoom.” RQSLI – Shropshire.
